Premiere: 9.1.2015 Arsenic Lausanne (CH)

More and more artists are busy by activating the audience or by talking about the audience itself.
Makers and spectators have placed themselves in a strange relationship. This spectacle intends offering artists AND audience a space for a collective experience where the individual intelligence is addressed.

Does this text now announce what this performance is about? Did you ever go to a performance due to the specificity of what it is about? Why are you coming to this performance? Why not?

THE SPECTACULAR SPECTATOR is a journey through the mental world of Rancière, Agamben, Debort, Mouffe, Neuveux and other people that were thinking and writing about the act and the sense of spectating in the last years. The stage piece intents to make this material accessible and sensual, also for non-professional spectators, to put into practice theories and concepts, while facing the position of the spectator himself.
